Oyster Bay Residents Directory Is Not a Government Office. This private reference cannot retrieve or certify a record, verify a current occupant, or alter an official database. Send those requests to the custodian that holds the record. Call 911 for an emergency. If someone is stalking or harassing you, contact local police.
Directing an Oyster Bay Records Request
Use the office or collection that created and maintains the record. A Town address, postal label, or ZIP code does not always identify the right custodian, particularly where incorporated villages have separate functions. These routes connect common Oyster Bay research questions with the appropriate records system:
- Address, ownership, or recorded-document questions: start with the Nassau County Clerk Land Records route and the Oyster Bay street directory record path.
- Town permits, Town vital records, licenses, or Town-held records: use the Town Clerk or Registrar, recognizing that Farmingdale and Sea Cliff keep their own local vital records.
- Current voter-registration and polling information: use the official New York Voter Registration Look-up, which has its own access rules.
- Historical family, street, or community research: ask the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Library about its Local History and Theodore Roosevelt collections, newspapers, microfilm, and in-library databases.
- Existing Town records that are not online: submit a reasonably described New York FOIL request through the Town’s FOIL channel by email at FOIL@oysterbay-ny.gov, in person, by mail, or by fax at 516-624-6331.

Official Land Records information and access options
The Clerk accepts land-document and document-request channels by e-recording, mail or delivery, lobby drop box, and in person. Current owner information is not provided by staff over the phone or email. The Town FOIL process is separate from county land-record requests and applies only to existing Town records that are reasonably described.
